What to expect after your procedure

Vitrectomy is usually a day-care procedure, with most patients going home the same day or after one night. If a gas bubble is used, head positioning is needed for several days and flying is not allowed until the gas absorbs. Vision typically improves gradually over 4–12 weeks.
